New Directions Housing Corporation is currently seeking a Pest Control Specialist to work under the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance, and in cooperation with the Property Management and Maintenance teams. The Pest Control Specialist conducts monthly insecticide treatments of all occupied and unoccupied units; monitors common areas and grounds for evidence of pest and rodent activity and distributes bait boxes, traps, and chemicals as needed; creates and executes treatment plans for infestations; and coordinates with outside service providers as necessary to handle larger bed bug or rodent infestations. Pay Range:
$21.50•$25.50 per hour Schedule:
Full Time, Monday•Friday; 8:00 am•4:30 pm Essential Responsibilities:
Maintains appropriate licensure and attends regular continuing education classes. Sprays chemical treatment in all units on a monthly basis. Monitors for evidence of pests and distributes bait boxes, traps, and chemicals as needed. Treats common areas and grounds of buildings for pests and rodents. Inspects units for pest ingress and nesting opportunities, and coordinates with maintenance to correct. Creates and executes treatment plans for infestations. Coordinates with property management team to address housekeeping issues that contribute to infestations. Works with third-party pest control services as needed. Maintains proper documentation of pesticide procurement and usage as required by state and local regulations. Maintains documentation of all treatment activity. Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Maintains appropriate pest control license from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. High school diploma or equivalent; one year experience in pest control services; a combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted. Maintain a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation and automobile insurance that complies with state law. Excellent computer proficiency; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database systems. Ability to relate in an effective manner with co-workers, residents, compliance representatives, neighbors and all others. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Ability to set and complete a series of goals, strategies and tactics. Maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters. Team player with commitment to the agency's values. Successfully pass all employment screening, including any required drug test. Special Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Knowledge of Federal, state and local Fair Housing laws. Knowledge of building maintenance practices, requirements, and codes. Knowledge of OSHA regulations. Physical Demands, Work Environment, Machines, Tools & Equipment:

This position requires the ability to sit at computer terminal as well was physically inspect units for evidence of pests including standing, walking, bending, crouching, lifting, talking or listening to others, sometimes in confining spaces and many times, in high pressure environments. Lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed on-site with our residential buildings, but will also include some work at our maintenance office. Position requires considerable driving in local area and requires the incumbent to drive at night and/or in inclement weather. Incumbent may be required to work outdoors, regardless of the weather. All relevant hand tools, power tools and all equipment commensurate with required skill-sets. Also, computer and various applications, printer, photocopy machine, fax machine, telephone, automobiles, cell phone, calculator, shredder. Additional Information:
