Job Description

Dog Handler / Pest Control Technician Prince Frederick, MD 20678 Full-Time | Monday-Friday Do you love dogs and aren't afraid of getting your hands dirty? We are seeking a Dog Handler to work alongside a specialized pest control team that uses highly trained rat detection dogs to locate rodent activity and assist with pest management services. This is NOT a kennel or pet daycare position. Candidates must be comfortable working around rats, mice, insects, and other pests in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. If creepy crawlies make you squeamish, this is probably not the job for you! This is a unique opportunity to build a career with a fast-growing, family-oriented company that is expanding throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. Pay & Benefits Up to $30.00/hour once fully trained Paid training provided Company transit van provided for transporting the dogs to and from job sites Overtime available and expected Night shift differential of approximately $300-$400 per project when applicable Profit sharing opportunities at year-end Advancement opportunities with a growing company Responsibilities Handle and work with a team of two trained detection dogs Feed, exercise, groom, and care for the dogs daily Build a strong bond with the dogs through consistent training and handling Transport the dogs safely to job sites using a company-provided transit van Assist with pest control inspections, rodent detection services, and animal trapping operations Work in environments where rats, mice, insects, and other pests are present Meet with customers and accompany the team on estimates Educate customers on services and help close sales opportunities Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while representing the company Travel to job sites throughout the service area Qualifications Must be an animal lover with a genuine passion for working with dogs Must be comfortable working around rodents, insects, and pest-infested environments Ability and willingness to train, bond with, and care for working dogs Strong communication and customer service skills Comfortable speaking with customers and helping sell services Reliable with a valid driver's license and clean driving record Willingness to work overtime when needed Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Pest control, animal handling, dog training, wildlife control, or sales experience is a plus, but not required Why Join Us?
