Job Description

Overview Join the DMV's only no-spray mosquito control company as a Mosquito Control Specialist and play a vital role in helping us shift people away from mosquito spraying, while still protecting communities from mosquito-borne illnesses. In this highly flexible, hands-on position, you will be responsible for implementing mosquito control strategies, applying treatments, and ensuring safe and effective management of mosquitos and ticks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize the latest eco-friendly pest control technology, and make a tangible difference in public health. Responsibilities Conduct mosquito surveillance to identify breeding sites Apply approved mosquito control treatments to include baiting stations, organic larvicides, exclusion netting, and male mosquito releases Apply approved tick control treatments to include tick bait boxes Communication with customers you are serving Maintain detailed records of treatments applied, locations serviced, and environmental conditions observed Must have access to a vehicle you can use for work
  • mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate Follow all safety protocols related to pesticide application, equipment handling, and outdoor work environments Job Details Starting at 10 hours/week, opportunity to increase over time if desired Flexible schedule
  • choose when you want to work Starting pay is $21.50 per hour, earn an additional $5 per hour for every hour worked in the 2026 season at the end of the season by hitting a retention target (work at least 7 hours per week for the remainder of the season). The following season you'll bump up to $26.50 per hour Seasonal work
  • April to October Must have your own vehicle you are willing to use to get to customers and also transport required equipment.
Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate Must have a valid drivers license Must have physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions including standing, walking, bending, and lifting Preferred Skills Experience with pest control methods or related fields such as lawn care, farming, landscaping or agriculture Experience with customer service Excellent attention to detail for record keeping and environmental assessments Prior employment or volunteer work related to the environment Education in or an interest in science An interest in returning for multiple seasons This role is perfect for motivated individuals who enjoy outdoor work and are eager to contribute to community health initiatives.
