This role requires a valid Commercial Technician license, strong knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM) principles, and a commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. The technician will inspect, identify, and treat pest activity while maintaining full compliance with federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities Service & Treatment Perform pest inspections and treatments at assigned residential or multi-family service stops according to scheduled routes Correctly identify pest activity and select appropriate treatment protocols by pest type Apply pesticides in strict accordance with EPA-registered product labels and FIFRA regulations Integrate non-chemical IPM methods — including exclusion, sanitation recommendations, and monitoring pest activity Customer Relations Greet customers professionally, explain treatment procedures clearly, and provide aftercare instructions before departing Respond to customer questions and concerns with confidence and courtesy Report any customer complaints or escalations to a supervisor on the same day they occur Safety & Compliance Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) as specified by product labels and OSHA standards at all times Maintain a valid Commercial Technician license with zero lapses Complete all required continuing education units (CEUs) Adhere to all company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and DOT requirements Report all incidents, accidents, and near-misses to a supervisor immediately Documentation & Reporting Complete all service reports while on-site at each scheduled visit Document pest findings, products applied (including EPA registration numbers and application rates), IPM recommendations made, and obtain customer signatures where required Maintain accurate chemical use logs Equipment & Vehicle Care Complete vehicle inspections and equipment checks and document them accordingly Keep the assigned company vehicle clean and presentable at all times Report any vehicle damage, mechanical issues, or equipment malfunctions to a supervisor immediately Ensure all pesticides are stored securely and in compliance with state and company regulations Team & Professional Development Participate constructively in team meetings, training sessions, and performance check-ins Support fellow technicians during high-demand periods or route coverage situations Actively work toward individual performance goals and be receptive to supervisor coaching and feedback Required Qualifications Valid state Commercial Technician license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) Minimum 1 year of Pest Control field experience preferred Working knowledge of common residential and multi-family pests and treatment protocols Ability to read and interpret pesticide labels, safety data sheets (SDS), and service reports Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to work in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Comfortable working around chemicals with appropriate PPE in place Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage or salary commensurate with experience Opportunity to earn commissions Company vehicle and fuel provided Uniforms and PPE provided Paid continuing education and license renewal support Paid time off and holidays
