The Role:
As a Pest Control Technician I , you will be responsible for monitoring, implementing, and maintaining rodent control strategies to protect poultry operations. You will work closely with customers to ensure proper pest control measures are in place and compliant with all safety and regulatory standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Pest Control & Application:
Set up and maintain traps, bait stations, and rodent control devices within poultry facilities. Monitor and document rodent activity levels to assess control effectiveness. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling and applying pest control products, including insecticides, herbicides, and disinfectants. Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and ensuring effective pest control solutions.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere to all biosecurity and safety protocols, including proper handling of pest control materials. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (masks, gloves, boot coverings, eye/ear protection). Maintain accurate records of materials used, application rates, and service history. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous materials.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on traps, bait stations, and application equipment. Clean and sanitize equipment to prevent contamination and ensure proper function. Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections, addressing any issues promptly.
Who You Are:
We're looking for ambitious go-getters who have: Willingness to learn and train in a new profession. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on demand. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Key Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; experience in agriculture or pest control is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR). Ability to obtain a state-issued pest control license (training provided if needed). Strong customer service and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Work environments include confined poultry housing, outdoor sites, and warehouse operations. Exposure to dust, ammonia, chemicals, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
