Job Description
Lead the Pest and Vegetation Control Department at Outdoor Services, Inc. Candidate should be familiar with the industry and be willing to continue training and grow their skills. This position requires skills in inventory management, budgeting, customer service, routing and production, be able to lead others in the department and assign tasks. Requirements Pest Control managers must have a driver's license to operate OSI vehicles. Pest Control managers must maintain a good driving record during employment. Pest Control managers must maintain State certifications. 3.0 Turf & Landscape, Structural Pest Control 7.1 , Right of Way & Natural Areas 6.0 , and Aquatic Mosquito 5.0 Pest control managers must be familiar with the different chemicals used in pest control. Pest Control managers must have prior manager experience. Essential Duties Pest control managers typically do the following:
- Train and provide guidance and direction to new pest control technicians, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff and fellow managers, and maintaining them over time.
- Schedule staff to complete routes
- Route customers in an efficient and timely manner for the season.
- Communicate with human resource when more staff is needed to hire
- Answer any questions from the pest control technicians
- Follow up with customers when problems/complaints arise. Occasional Duties Pest control manager sometimes do the following:
- Determine the type of treatment needed to eliminate pests
- Measure the dimensions of the area needing treatment
- Estimate the cost of their services
- Use baits and set traps to remove, control, or eliminate pests
- Apply pesticides in and around buildings and other structures
- Design and carry out pest management plans
- Drive trucks equipped with power spraying equipment
- Create barriers to prevent pests from entering a building
- Filling out all paperwork properly required by State
- Other tasks directed by COO
- Experience is preferred. WI or MN certification required for the position and paid by the company, paid training opportunities available.
- This is a salaried position with year-round employment.
- Valid driver's license required with good driving record.
- Company vehicle provided.
