This energetic position involves working at heights, utilizing specialized equipment, and applying expert tree care techniques to ensure trees are properly trimmed, pruned, and supported. As a Tree Climber, you'll be at the forefront of landscape maintenance, contributing to the safety and aesthetic appeal of outdoor environments while gaining valuable experience in horticulture and arboriculture. Responsibilities Safely ascend and descend trees using climbing gear, rigging techniques, and harnesses to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks. Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access hard-to-reach areas efficiently and securely. Use rigging systems to carefully lower branches or debris, minimizing impact on surrounding landscapes. Conduct tree assessments to identify health issues, structural weaknesses, or hazards that require attention. Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, and general landscaping to support overall site aesthetics. Apply knowledge of horticulture principles to promote healthy growth and proper tree care practices. Maintain all safety protocols during operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. Requirements Proven growing experience in tree care, horticulture, or landscaping environments. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, lifting heavy equipment, and working at heights for extended periods. Familiarity with rigging techniques used in arboriculture for safe removal or pruning procedures. Experience operating bucket trucks or bucket lifts is highly desirable. Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is a plus for mapping and site planning tasks. Strong understanding of tree trimming, pruning techniques, and overall tree health management. Basic lawn care and landscape maintenance skills are advantageous. Certification or training in arboriculture or related fields is preferred but not required; ongoing learning is encouraged.
