Tree Spade Operator/Farm Mechanic

Fox Tree Farm an extension of Foxscapes offers large tree spade moving for customers primarily in the Portland and Lansing area. Job activities can range from transplanting shade, evergreen, and ornamental trees 4" to 9" caliper from the farm to the customer location as well as moving trees on-site. As a tree spade operator, it is the responsibility of the operator to ensure proper planting practice and educate the customer on the best horticulture practice for their tree after planting. Fox Tree Farm is an agricultural business that has an extensive fleet of different equipment to move trees and maintain the farm. The position will also assist with performing maintenance and repairs on the trucks, trailers, skid-steers, and mowers. Accordingly, this position requires mechanical knowledge and experience with maintaining/repairing diesel engines and transmissions, large air-brake trucks, hydraulic systems, and small engines.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience in the horticulture field Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic (understanding wiring, transmissions, airbrakes, diesel engines, welding, hydraulics, small engines) Valid Drivers License (Class A not required) Operate a manual and automatic transmission on large trucks.
