Job Description
Job Summary Climber apprentice will be required to assist with pruning and removal as well as assist the grounds crew. This position is meant to grow you as a climber/operator while under the supervision of the crew lead. The apprentice climber should be able to provide their own personal climbing equipment and PPE. Duties Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and removal using climbing gear and rigging techniques to ensure safe and efficient work practices Learn to operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts for reaching high branches and executing precise cuts Support general site cleanup. Help with the setup and breakdown of rigging systems for safe tree work operations Participate in safety inspections, equipment checks, and adherence to industry standards during all job activities Contribute to ongoing tree health assessments and basic horticultural practices under supervision Skills Strong interest in tree care, horticulture, landscaping, or related fields with growing experience preferred Basic understanding of rigging techniques for climbing and lowering branches safely Ability to operate or learn to operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment such as bucket lifts or spider lifts. Willingness to learn about tree trimming standards, safety procedures, and industry best practices Good physical condition with the ability to climb trees, work at heights, lift heavy objects safely, and perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions
