Job Description
Position summary Reporting to the General Manager, the Area Manager is responsible for the day-to-day quality of service and customer experience within an assigned territory. This role ensures pools are safe, clean, and serviced to B&B Pools' standards while serving as the primary operational contact for customers after onboarding. The Area Manager manages technician routes, monitors service quality and safety, and works closely with Customer Service and the Repair Manager to keep routes efficient, customers informed, and issues resolved quickly and seamlessly. Core responsibilities Take Ownership of route performance by monitoring visit completion, water quality trends, callbacks, and customer feedback, and adjusting technician assignments, visit cadence, or on-site practices to prevent repeat issues. Ensure quality service and consistent documentation through technician coaching, post-onboarding customer support, and accurate record keeping in PoolBrain. Work as a Team by collaborating with the Repair Manager and General Manager to clearly differentiate maintenance versus repair issues, coordinate cross-territory support without delays or handoffs and partner with Customer Service and technicians to ensure timely, well-communicated resolution. Emphasize safety by balancing technician workloads and route density, preventing overload, and ensuring proper chemical training. Prioritize people by fostering consistent customer-technician relationships and ensuring technicians have the tools, information, and support they need to perform their jobs effectively. Contribute to a culture that Has Fun by celebrating wins, recognizing technicians for strong customer feedback, and encouraging team-building moments that reinforce connection and pride in the work. Required qualifications Experience in pool service or a similar field-service environment, with strong working knowledge of pool chemistry, equipment, and seasonal/weather impacts on service. Proven ability to manage routes, balance workloads, and coach field technicians while maintaining a customer-first mindset. Comfort using tools such as Quo (or similar VOIP systems) and PoolBrain (or similar job/route software) for notes, job creation, and coordination across standard, remediation, quote, onboarding, and offboarding workflows. Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues in plain language, de-escalate frustrated customers, and collaborate effectively with Customer Service, Repair, Accounting, and leadership.
