5/12/2026 Position Summary A Foreperson coordinates operations and oversees tree crew personnel. This position provides leadership and management to assigned tree crews while actively performing tree care and maintenance duties. The Foreperson communicates daily with the General Foreperson regarding all aspects of crew operations, work progress, safety, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Essential Functions Crew Operations & Leadership Receive and interpret work orders for tree trimming and spraying from the General Foreperson Plan and organize daily crew activities and job assignments Assign duties to crew members and direct crews in the performance of work Provide leadership, guidance, and support to crew personnel Conduct field training and retraining for employees on proper procedures and updated job requirements Safety & Compliance Enforce safe work practices in accordance with company policy, OSHA regulations, experience, and sound judgment Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the crew Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently Equipment & Maintenance Operate and service all required tools and equipment Inspect tools, trucks, and equipment to ensure safe operating conditions Perform and/or coordinate minor repairs and maintenance on equipment Utilize tree care equipment including, but not limited to: Stump grinders Chippers Chipper trucks Bucket trucks Other tree-related equipment Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate records, reports, and crew timesheets Communicate effectively with management regarding job progress, concerns, and crew performance Ensure documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time Duties may or may not be subject to change Qualifications Experience & Knowledge Experience in tree care and maintenance operations Working knowledge of tree trimming, spraying, and tree crew operations Ability to operate and maintain tree care equipment safely and effectively Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions in the field Requirements Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per Company requirements May be required to pass a DOT physical examination to obtain the appropriate CDL Ability to meet all physical requirements of the position Must pass required drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with Company policy and DOT regulations if applicable Must be at least 18 years of age, or 21 if CDL is required Must be legally authorized to work in the United States This role is based in an office environment with occasional remote work flexibility.
