  • Region Two UDOT is looking for the next generation of field leaders.
This isn't just about maintaining roads; it's about leading the crew that keeps Utah moving. We need experienced technicians ready to act as the "right hand" to the Station Supervisor and mentor the next generation of staff.
The Role:
Lead, Maintain, Mentor As a Landscape Transportation Technician III, you will lead field operations with a focus on environmental stewardship and infrastructure safety.
You will:
Lead the
Vegetation Management :
Oversee the identification and eradication of noxious and invasive weed species.
Chemical and Mechanical Control :
Execute and supervise integrated pest management strategies using advanced chemical and mechanical methods.
Equipment Mastery :
Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized herbicide application equipment and irrigation systems.
Erosion Control and Revegetation :
Coordinate seeding operations on disturbed ground to restore native growth and manage stormwater runoff.
Arboriculture :
Direct tree trimming and removal operations to ensure roadway clearance and public safety.
Winter Operations :
Lead snow and ice removal efforts using heavy machinery, including snow plows, graders, and blowers, to maintain safe travel conditions.
Operational Leadership :
Provide on-site guidance to staff, ensure safety protocol compliance, and perform additional duties as required. Qualifications & Eligibility This position is designed for those within the UDOT Transportation Technician career path.
Primary Requirement :
Current qualification as a UDOT Transportation Technician III.
Mandatory Certifications :
All applicants must hold a Class A CDL. Utah State Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
Response Time :

Supplemental Information Snow Plan :
You will be a key part of the Region Two snow removal team.
Availability :
Requires a standard 40-hour week, but you must be available 24/7 for weather events, emergencies, and overtime as needed.
