Groundhand (Levels 1-4)
Location:
The Urban Foresters, Stafford, TX Department:
Operations Reports To:
Foreman Role Objective The Groundhand is responsible for the safe and efficient management of the "Drop Zone." This role progresses from basic debris management to advanced technical rigging and heavy equipment operation, ensuring that tree removals and pruning are executed without injury or property damage. Core Responsibilities (All Levels)
Safe Zone Management:
Maintaining a 360-degree awareness of the "Drop Zone" and "Chipper Zone."
Equipment Maintenance:
Daily cleaning, fueling, and basic "field-stripping" of power tools.
Debris Processing:
Dragging, stacking, and feeding brush into the chipper using safe feeding techniques.
Communication:
Utilizing standardized hand signals and voice-and-response communication with the climber.
Qualifications Physical:
Ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift 75+ lbs.
Credentials:
Valid Texas Driver's License.
Safety:
Willingness to obtain EHAP (Electrical Hazards Awareness Program) and First Aid/CPR certification. What We Offer The Urban Foresters are committed to investing in our team.
