Job Description

Position Responsibilities:
The MIT Technician is responsible for conducting Mechanical Integrity Tests on production wells to ensure the structural soundness of well casings and prevent environmental contamination. This role involves operating a specialized MIT vehicle/trailer, handling high-pressure nitrogen and water systems, and strictly adhering to radiological and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities 1. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Safely operate and maneuver the
SR43 MIT
Vehicle and trailer, ensuring precise placement over the wellbore. Operate hydraulic pumps (red reel), cable winches, and nitrogen delivery systems. Maintain equipment by cleaning and lubricating threaded connections and ensuring all protective caps/plugs are in place. 2. Testing & Data Collection Perform pressurized casing tests by inflating packers with nitrogen. Ensure proper data recovery. 3. Safety & Radiological Compliance Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO): Ensure all wells in active production areas are properly locked out at the header house before testing.
Contamination Control:
Adhere to strict radiological housekeeping.
PPE:
Consistently wear hard hats, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and specialized gear. 4. Inspection & Quality Control Conduct comprehensive pre-operation inspections. Identify hazards such as leaks or equipment wear.
Job Requirements:
Technical Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret spreadsheets and technical SOPs.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle heavy equipment, work in outdoor environments, and manage slips/trips/falls hazards on slick surfaces.
Safety Conscious:
Demonstrated understanding of high-pressure gas safety. Attention to
Detail:
Precision in marking depths (tape markers) and timing pressure intervals accurately.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma is required; prior experience in the mining industry is preferred.
