Have 2 spots in Sandpoint, ID and 2 in Spokane, WA Job Summary Join our team as a Union Line Clearance Journeyman/Journeywoman Tree Trimmer and play a vital role in maintaining safe, reliable power lines through expert tree care and clearance. In this dynamic position, you will utilize your skills in tree trimming, rigging, and landscape maintenance to ensure the safety and efficiency of utility infrastructure. Your expertise will help prevent outages, protect communities, and support the ongoing growth of our electrical network. This is a paid position that offers opportunities for growth, skill development, and meaningful contribution to public safety. Responsibilities Perform precise tree trimming and land clearing around power lines using specialized equipment such as bucket trucks and rigging tools. Operate bucket trucks safely to access high branches and difficult terrain for effective tree care. Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to assess work sites, plan clearance routes, and document work performed. Execute land management tasks including lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general landscaping to promote healthy growth around utility corridors. Apply horticultural knowledge to identify tree species, growth patterns, and potential hazards that could impact power lines. Rig heavy limbs or trees safely using rigging techniques to prevent damage to infrastructure or surrounding property. Follow all safety protocols and industry standards to ensure personal safety and that of team members during tree trimming operations. Experience Proven experience in Utility line tree trimming , including tree trimming, pruning, Hands-on experience operating bucket trucks and bucket operation equipment in utility . Knowledge of rigging techniques for safe limb removal and land clearing projects. Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and site assessment purposes. Ability to work at heights safely while managing tools and equipment efficiently. Strong commitment to safety standards, teamwork, and continuous learning within the utility or arboriculture industry.
