Agronomy Head Coordinator & Sales Job Description May, 2026 Cameron Cooperative Elevator Assn, located at 102 South Walnut Cameron, MO 64429, seeks a full-time Agronomist. A Bachelor's degree, preferably in agronomy, or equivalent experience is preferred. Ideal Candidates will have 5+ years of experience in Agronomy work and experience with on-farm selling. The right candidate will demonstrate proficiency in all agronomy-related matters such as weed/insect identification and control, chemicals, plant nutrient/fertilizer, plant growth, an understanding of chemical rebate programs and any other agronomic related topic. Past experiences working with seed, chemical, and fertilizer is a must. Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel and Word are beneficial as well. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and technical skills to drive on-farm sales and customer relationship success. They need to be able to quickly establish relationships and credibility with agronomy patrons at Cameron COOP. They will spend time on the farm as well as in the office working with patrons, prospective customers, and coworkers.
RESPONSIBILITIES

SALES/CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Agronomic issues and questions that arise
  • Making multiple sales and service contacts with assigned growers and patrons
  • both current and prospective
  • Scout crop fields frequently for current and prospective customers to help keep patrons current and informed with recommendations
  • Generate demand for Cameron COOP products throughout the year
  • Provide recommendations to growers in the areas of fertilizing, weed/pest control and management, planting, or any other general agronomy-related topic
  • Calling on growers to not only grow Cameron COOP's business with that grower but to more importantly provide consulting and customer service relating to ANY agronomic issue
  • Working with chemical sales reps on chemical rebate programs and product bookings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
pertaining to
Agronomy Management:
    OVERSEE AND SERVE AS
    1st
    IN COMMAND OF ALL AGRONOMY
    (chemical and fertilizer)
    WORKERS AND OPERATIONS.
    o This includes giving orders and directing traffic to ALL tender truck drivers and chemical / fertilizer applicators.
    YOU ARE THEIR BOSS
    o May be asked to sit in on interviews when selecting new employee candidates for these positions. o This position will also work hand in hand with our south location agronomy clerk on billing, logistics, product pricing, job dispatching, and other daily tasks.
    • This position
    MUST KNOW
    CHEMISTRY and be more than capable of putting together mixes for pasture, soybean, corn, and wheat operations. NO EXCEPTIONS, this experience is a MUST.
    • Have jobs lined up for tender men and equipment operators and have schedules planned out ahead of time as much as possible (weather permitting).

    Point of Contact for tender truck drivers and sprayer/spreader operators
    • Work with chemical tender men to keep south bay organized and clean
    • and everything in its spot
    ULTIMATELY, IT IS THIS POSITION'S JOB TO ENSURE SPRAYING AND SPREADING JOBS ARE GETTING ACCOMPLISHED AND BE THE COORDINATOR OF DAILY TASKS
    • Put recipes together for tank mixes.
    This person is responsible for the Chemical ordering, booking, retail pricing, and inventory management at Cameron COOP. Because of this, this person needs to keep an accurate record of chemicals ordered and rebate programs that Cameron COOP has with vendors. This full-time position reports directly to the General Manager. Work hours are generally 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday with the expectation of working hours outside of that time frame during planting and spraying season. This position can expect to earn an annual base salary (varies depending on years of experience) plus a company-wide bonus program (based on company profit) paying up to 9% of annual earnings and a generous commission program paid on fertilizer and chemical sales as well as chemical rebates. Cameron Coop is a well established agricultural company which provides farm products and services to its Member Producers as well as a fueling station and farm store for the general public. As a full-time employee you will qualify for health and dental insurance and a strong retirement plan as well as an employer-provided short term disability policy and a small life insurance policy.
