Job Description

AI Automation Specialist Full-Time, based in Los Angeles, near downtown
L.A., M-F
in-office Gibson Homewares is hiring an AI Automation Specialist to audit departmental workflows, build AI agents and automations, and drive real adoption across our Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Ecommerce teams. You'll report to our Director and SVP of Information Technology and work directly with department leads to identify bottlenecks and deliver working solutions-not just recommendations. This is a builder-doer role. You'll come in, learn how our teams actually work, and deliver AI tools and automations that make their day-to-day faster, better, and measurably more productive. You'll be the person who turns leadership's AI vision into something teams can touch, use, and benefit from every day. What You'll Do
  • Audit workflows across departments to identify high-impact AI and automation opportunities
  • Design, build, and deploy AI agents that integrate into existing team workflows
  • Set up, configure, and test AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Oracle AI Agents, n8n, Make, Power Automate)
  • Write prompts, build AI workflows, and QA outputs before rolling tools out to end users
  • Run AI pilot projects end-to-end: scoping, timelines, vendor coordination, testing, and results tracking
  • Partner with department leads to define success metrics before building and validate results after
  • Create training materials, run hands-on sessions, and support employees through adoption
  • Document builds for maintainability and create a reusable playbook of templates and best practices
  • Monitor AI agent performance, token usage, and flag governance or compliance issues
  • Research new AI vendors, agent frameworks, and tools; coordinate demos and POCs
  • Build "Before & After" showcases that quantify impact (e.g., "2 hours → 20 min")
  • Coordinate department-specific "AI Office Hours" and run hands-on training sessions to increase adoption Required Qualifications
  • 3-6 years in business analysis, operations, project management, or process improvement
  • 1+ years hands-on experience building AI agents, automations, or workflows in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with agent frameworks and automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier, LangChain, Power Automate, or similar)
  • Strong process analysis and project management skills
Data-literate:
comfortable with spreadsheets, CRM exports, and basic data quality checks
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Cross-functional experience with Sales, Marketing, E-commerce, or Operations teams
  • Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) Nice to Have
  • Experience with prompt engineering or building custom AI agents
  • Familiarity with Claude, GPT, Gemini, or Copilot APIs
  • Background in change management, training development, or user adoption
  • Understanding of AI concepts: LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, tokens, governance
  • Experience extracting, cleaning, or reporting on data from ERP systems to support AI pilots or automation projects.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) or platforms like Airtable and Notion
  • Certifications in PM (PMP, Scrum), AI fundamentals, or Lean/Six Sigma
  • Hands-on ERP experience (Oracle Fusion, SAP, NetSuite) and understanding of order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, or record-to-report processes
  • Background in retail, wholesale, or consumer goods
