Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent general education degree. Two to three years related experience and/or training.

Language Skills and Abilities:

Read and interpret procedures, policies, and regulations such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, staff, and public.

Preference:

Local, culture, and Inupiaq experience preferred.

Mathematical Skills and Abilities:

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Resolve practical problems and handle a variety of non-standard situations. Interpret various types of instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

A valid Class D Alaska Driver's License may be required. CPR and First Aid Level I State of Alaska fire extinguisher certification

Other Skills and Abilities:

Lift 70 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Keep District facilities in a neat, clean, and safe condition. Assist in the maintenance and storage of District property. Assist in the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of automated systems. Assist in the implementation of the preventive maintenance program for the District. Assist in restocking and expediting material within District facilities. Report unauthorized persons and or damages to the appropriate authority as required. Assist in the supervision and training of personnel as required. Attend District training as required. Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign. Adhere to all District policies and regulations.
