Airport Operations / ARFF Specialist I

The Sun Valley/Friedman Memorial Airport, in Hailey, ID, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, non-exempt Airport Operations/Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) Specialist This position is responsible for day-to-day safety, security, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance of the Airport during an assigned shift. This role is often required to work independently, with little supervision, on any given shift, 24/7/365. Applicants must be proactive, self-motivated leaders. Responsibilities include the inspection and documentation of airfield conditions in accordance with FAA and DHS/TSA regulations, responding to and managing emergencies in the capacity of an Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter, maintenance and repair of all airside, terminal, and landside facilities. Other duties include snow removal, coordinating airport construction, mitigating wildlife hazards, and enforcing Federal, State, and local regulations including environmental regulations. Minimum Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma and 3 years of full-time relevant work experience in fire, law enforcement, EMS, or similar; Or, a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management/Aeronautics, pilots certificate and 1 year full-time work experience (aviation-related internships may be counted towards experience) Great interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with various personalities. Moderate mechanical ability, preferred Ability to pass a 10-year Criminal History Records Check, TSA Security Threat Assessment, and Drug Screening. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aviation related field, prior experience in Airport Operations, Pilot certification, Fire/EMS Services, or Law Enforcement experience.
