Job Description

Overview
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and supporting participants involved in alternative justice and diversion programs. Through proactive case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, and service referrals, this role ensures participant compliance with judicially mandated requirements. The Alternative Justice Case Manager connects court participants to internal and community resources, fostering rehabilitation, promoting self-sufficiency, and working to reduce recidivism. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in case management, social services, behavioral health, or the criminal justice system.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, substance use disorders, and mental health challenges.
  • Strong crisis de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Culturally competent with an understanding of the specific needs and resources of Cherokee Nation citizens.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
