Job Description
Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Animal Caretaker for our Pullet Farm in Roggen, CO. This position is responsible for training and caring for live birds and properly maintaining the barns to ensure optimal bird health while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. This position will also assist the Pullet Farm Manager with other projects and duties as needed.
Perform minor maintenance as needed. (Maintenance technicians will perform more complex tasks.)Walk the barns numerous times during the workday to check on bird health, train birds and remove dead birds.
Ensure feed and water distribution systems working properly and that hens have adequate food, water and air ventilationAdjust vents and curtains as requiredAssist other Animal Caretakers as neededMonitor and maintain exterior of farmOther duties as assigned by Lead person or
