Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as an Animal Shelter Manager, where you will lead and oversee the daily operations of a vibrant animal shelter committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on countless lives by managing staff, coordinating animal care programs, and fostering a compassionate environment for both animals and visitors. As a vital leader, you will ensure the shelter runs efficiently, maintains high standards of animal welfare, and provides exceptional customer service to pet adopters and community members alike. Duties Supervise daily shelter activities, including animal intake, care, and adoption processes Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance to ensure a motivated and knowledgeable team Coordinate veterinary services, including vaccinations, medical treatments, and health assessments Implement and monitor animal handling procedures to ensure safety and comfort for animals and staff Manage kennel operations to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards Facilitate community outreach programs, educational events, and volunteer engagement initiatives Maintain accurate records of animal histories, medical treatments, adoptions, and foster placements Ensure compliance with local regulations and shelter policies related to animal care and safety Requirements Proven experience in veterinary settings or as a veterinary technician or assistant with strong animal handling skills Knowledge of dog training techniques and dog handling expertise Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large animals or supplies Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward adopters and visitors Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling Ability to train staff on animal restraint techniques and proper care procedures Background in animal care or shelter management is highly desirable Join us in creating a caring environment where animals find loving homes!
