Immediately Job Description The Palisades School District invites applications for the position of full-time, contracted, middle school English teacher, who will also work with students in the gifted program. Qualified applicants should be well versed in the pedagogy of English and reading instruction, with the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a variety of learners. The preferred candidate will be, or be willing to become, well-versed in the trends with education of the gifted student, as well as having the ability to manage a caseload of students and conduct annual meetings with parents/guardians to support their unique programming needs. The ideal candidate must also be collegial, adaptable, and student-centered in their approach to teaching and learning. The qualified applicant must have a current Pennsylvania certification in English Mid-Level 7-9 or Grades 4 - 8 certification with a concentration in English//Language Arts. Candidates that are awaiting an official certification to be approved by PDE are encouraged to apply, but must submit a letter from their university/college and a copy of their Praxis scores that demonstrate program completion. Please be aware that all applicants MUST submit the required documents as per the posting to be considered for an interview, which includes a copy of certification and clearances as per the guidelines below. Recent graduates who have not yet received their teaching certificate from PDE must include a letter from their college demonstrating proof of submission to PDE having met all requirements or a copy of receipt of application to PDE. The position begins at the start of the 2026/27 school year. Additionally, the selected candidate will participate in the Palisades Induction Program (three days in mid-August, 2026).
