Qualifications:
1. Possess a Bachelor's degree in professional accounting subjects. 2. Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in either accounting, payroll or financial management. 3. Have a working knowledge of GAAP accounting, Internal Revenue Codes, and New Jersey rules and regulations governing school districts. 4. Have knowledge of automated accounting systems; Systems 3000 preferred. 5. Have a solid working knowledge of Google Applications and Microsoft Office. 6. Provide proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. 7. Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education, or, during the initial six-month period provide a sworn statement that there have not been any convictions of a crime or a disorderly persons offense in accordance with 18

Job Goal:
To assist the School Business Administrator in the financial/business office activities of the school district.
PERFORMANCE GOALS
Assist the SBA to maintain a system of records, controls, and accounting procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), applicable regulations, and Board policies, submitting all summaries and reports in a timely fashion. Maintain financial records that support the development of the Business Administrator's monthly report to the Board. Prepare deposits and other tasks associated with this report. Assist the Business Administrator to prepare information for the Treasurer of School Monies. Assist in the preparation of data for auditors and for the annual CAFR. Assist the Business Administrator with the coordination of secretarial personnel responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll to ensure accurate accounting of all funds, receipts and disbursements for the district. Reconcile and transmit reports and payments to the Federal, State and County Governments. Assist the Business Administrator with budget preparation and development processes. Assist the Business Administrator with the review and coordination of purchasing processes including the purchase of equipment, materials, and supplies on a large scale utilizing the appropriate quotation process, State and Cooperative contracts in accordance with prescribed laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. Assist the Business Administrator with the preparation of bid specifications, contracts, and related documents. Assist the Business Administrator with all required reports of the District ASSA, EWEG and 192/193 Coordination Services. Report any budget irregularities or short falls on projections to the Business Administrator. Perform annual set up, coordination and completion of student lunch applications and reporting on same within ProSchools or related software. Coordinate with Cafeteria personnel when necessary. Assist Business Administrator with send/receive tuition contracts and billing to sending districts. Reconciles payroll changes and adjustments to ensure accurate posting to the District's budget system. Prepares confidential reports and analyses to support negotiations and other contract related requests by administration. Be the district workers compensation coordinator, annual claims reports and handle all matters related to same including insurance claims. Coordinates the dissemination of employee information related to wide range of payroll related matters. Recommends changes to procedures and software to improve functionality and efficiency. Assume secondary role in processes all employee pension program enrollments, transfers, loans, retirements, quarterly reports, and other pension related matters or questions. Assume secondary role processes all employee payroll transactions and forms accurately and timely. In coordination with other staff, enroll new hires into all related deductions and other pay types. Assume secondary role in processes all regular and exception payrolls for all employee salaries on an ongoing basis and all corrections and adjustments as needed. Assume secondary role in processes all disburse payroll/agency related deductions including but not limited to federal and state withholdings, social security, Medicare and unemployment taxes; tax sheltered annuities; credit union; PERS and TPAF pension plans; garnishments; disability plans and flexible spending accounts, and other deductions as may be determined by the supervisor. Assume secondary role in process, prepare and reconcile all state and federal payroll reports as required including but not limited to
PERS, TPAF, SUI, IRS
941, New Jersey 927W, W2, W3, and submit payments as required. Act as Secretary Pro-temp in the absence of the Board Secretary. Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Business Administrator and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
Environmental Requirements:

Exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses. Work conditions are typical office environment temperatures of 65 to 80 degrees. Workspace has typical conditioned airflow ventilation found in a business office environment. Exposure to a building in which a variety of chemical substances are used for cleaning, instruction, and/or operation of equipment. Function in a workplace that is usually moderately quiet but that can be noisy at times.
