DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF
POSITION
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate K-2 Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to supporting young learners with diverse needs and has experience implementing effective behavioral strategies to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment. This role involves working collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure each student's academic, social, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs Provide direct instruction in literacy, math, and social-emotional skills using evidence-based practices Utilize proactive behavior supports and intervention strategies to address a range of student behaviors Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent and effective support Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that promotes student independence and success Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid state certification in Special Education (PreK-2 or equivalent) Experience working with students with behavioral challenges preferred Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies (e.g., PBIS, ABA principles, or similar approaches) Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of learning needs
SALARY:
$58,420.00 - $120,304.00
