Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-Time, Hybrid)•
Detroit, MI Location:
Detroit, MI 48202 (Hybrid)
Schedule:
approximately 30 hours/week•Prefer in-office Tue/Wed/Thu with optional remote Monday (orientation on-site first day)
Pay:
$21•25/hour (contract) Summary Seeking a detail-driven Accounts Payable Specialist to support a fast-paced finance team in Detroit. This is a part-time, hybrid contract role focused on accurate invoice processing, vendor maintenance, reconciliations, and payment support. Strong experience with SAP, Blackbaud Financial Edge (Financial Edge NXT preferred), and Excel is a must•this role will not be successful without solid system skills and the ability to manage AP details with speed and accuracy. Responsibilities Process high-volume accounts payable : receive, review, code, and enter invoices accurately and on time Match invoices to purchase orders/contracts , confirm approvals, and follow up on missing information Maintain up-to-date vendor records (EFT/ACH details, W-9/1099 information, addresses) and resolve vendor issues Use Blackbaud Financial Edge (Financial Edge NXT preferred) and/or SAP to enter invoices and support payment processing Support check runs and ACH payments , including positive pay/online banking uploads as needed Track vendor spend/contract spend-downs and support period-close accuracy Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations , accrual support, and journal entry support as assigned Communicate professionally with internal staff and external vendors to resolve invoice/payment questions Maintain clean documentation and ensure expenses are recorded in the correct accounting period Qualifications 3+ years recent Accounts Payable experience (high-volume, professional office environment preferred)
MUST HAVE
hands-on experience with SAP , Financial Edge / Financial Edge NXT (preferred) , and Excel Excel skills should be truly intermediate (examples: XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, PivotTables, SUMIF/S , filters, sorting) Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and comfort working independently with deadlines Experience with nonprofits, grants, or fund accounting is a plus Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred (or equivalent experience) •
