Job Description

Are you a highly skilled mechanic ready to take your aviation career to next level? Join our team! As an A&P Mechanic IV, you will supervise maintenance crews and oversee major overhauls and inspections. You will ensure regulatory compliance and conduct training sessions for junior mechanics. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
Supervise maintenance teams and projects. Oversee major overhauls and inspections. Ensure all work meets regulatory and safety standards. Conduct training and development sessions for junior mechanics. Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations. Develop and implement maintenance protocols. Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of all maintenance activities.
Qualifications You Must Have:
High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of relevant experience. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations. Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments. Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations. Advanced experience in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines. Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field. Leadership and management experience. In-depth knowledge of specific aircraft models. FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience. Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS). Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift. Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools. Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials. Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice. Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments. Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens. Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately. Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas. Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues. Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights. Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols. Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments. Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.
