ATTIC Correctional Services is currently recruiting for a part-time Apartment Monitors to provide community-based services to correctional clients following their release and transition back to their home community. This position is responsible for providing monitoring checks on the supervised apartment and clients residing in the transitional living program. Clients (tenants) will be offenders of varying risk/need on supervision with the Department of Corrections. Typically works 2-3 hours per week. Weekdays and weekends are typical for when hours are needed. Duties include, but are not limited to : Receive day to day direction and assignments from the Case Manager. Report any known or possible client violations and safety/security concerns to the appropriate party in a timely manner. Monitor client whereabouts and location security during designated periods and shifts. Complete and maintain activity records and other required information. Education & Work Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year experience and/or education relating to corrections, community based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement preferred. 1 year of experience with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Access to his/her own vehicle. Valid driver's license, good driving and proof of insurance. Ability to travel frequently. Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with staff, clients, and other parties in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries. Strong decision making abilities and self- motivated. Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
