In this role, you will travel to customers' homes and businesses to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair major home appliances and furniture. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and has the technical skills to get the job done effectively and efficiently. Customer satisfaction is a top priority.Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, inspect, and perform repair on a variety of major home appliances in customers' homes. Troubleshoot service issues over the phone and in person. Prepare and provide repair cost estimates for materials and labor. Prepare work orders. Talk to customers or refer to work orders to establish the nature of appliance malfunctions and solutions. Observe, disassemble, and examine appliances during operation to detect specific malfunctions. Refer to schematic drawings, product manuals, and troubleshooting guides to diagnose and repair problems. Replace worn and defective parts such as switches, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, circuit boards, or defective wiring. Reassemble units after repairs are made, making adjustments and cleaning parts as needed to ensure optional performance. Observe and test operation of appliances following repair to ensure proper functioning. Instruct customers regarding operation and care of appliances. Record maintenance and repair work performed on appliances. Present bills and receipts and collect payments for services rendered. Turn in receipts and money received from service calls. Perform in-shop repair of appliances; recondition and clean appliances for resale. Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures. Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.Qualifications :
High school diploma/GED. Previous experience in maintenance or as an Appliance Repair Technician is preferred. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. Excellent customer service skills.Similar remote jobs
