GENERAL DESCRIPTION

DESCRIBING ROLE
): We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join ARHS as a full-time teacher in the Applied Arts and Technology department. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving curriculum for business-related courses, including but not limited to management, marketing, entrepreneurship and finance. The position includes teaching a variety of business-related courses while incorporating innovative instructional practices and emerging industry trends such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital communication, and evolving technologies as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS :
A bachelor's degree in business and/or business certification, Masters degree preferred. Experience teaching at the high school level preferred. Desire and ability to mentor students Subject matter knowledge

  • the ability to plan course content, select applicable teaching materials, and assign appropriate coursework is important since engineering teachers are responsible for developing curriculum and teaching students new skills Research experience
  • to have credibility and value in the classroom,business teachers conduct necessary research to stay up to date on emerging industry news and trends Problem-solving skills
  • business teachers design experiments, utilize modeling, and apply critical thinking and logic to solve a variety of business problems Interpersonal skills
  • business teachers have strong interpersonal skills; they build rapport with students and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and administrators Familiar with Classroom technology as it relates to business Classroom response systems
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
(NOT
LIMITED TO
): Develop and update curriculum for business classes Communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with parents and students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis providing appropriate feedback Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the building Principal or designee. Establishes and maintains standards of behavior in the classroom and throughout the school to achieve a positive and functional learning atmosphere for students. Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, prepares student progress reports, and provides accurate and constructive feedback to students and parents. (as necessary). Uses data to improve the learning and instruction process. Cooperates with other professional staff members to identify student needs and develop assessments to solve health, attitude and learning problems. Creates an effective learning environment. Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day. Participates in faculty committees, meetings and other faculty sponsored programs supporting the educational program. Maintains professional competence through District sponsored in-service programs and approved professional development activities. Demonstrates regular and timely attendance. Is able to speak and write in a clear, concise manner. Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the students Other duties as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment:
This position is based in a high school setting. Is responsible for operating in both a classroom setting and a laboratory setting.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs., this position stands for extended periods of time and bends, kneel, reach, and carry. Vision correctable to 20/30 due to detailed work. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
