Job Description

Company Overview FMRS Health Systems, Inc. is dedicated to serving individuals, families, and communities through comprehensive mental health and wellness services. With a history spanning over five decades, our organization focuses on early intervention, prevention, treatment, and recovery across multiple counties to promote better mental and physical health outcomes. Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support medication administration and patient care in various settings such as residential and community-based programs. Your expertise will help ensure safe, effective medication management and personalized care for individuals with diverse needs, including those with behavioral health and/ or substance use disorders. Duties Administer medications as authorized under West Virginia AMAP regulations and agency policy. Follow the "Five Rights" of medication administration: 1. Right individual 2. Right medication 3. Right dose 4. Right route 5. Right time Review physician orders and medication administration records (MARs) prior to medication administration. Accurately document all medications administered, refused, held, or discontinued. Observe individuals for side effects, adverse reactions, or unusual behaviors and promptly report concerns to nursing staff or supervisors. Ensure medications are securely stored according to agency and regulatory requirements. Complete medication counts and controlled substance documentation as required. Report medication errors immediately according to agency policy.

Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and within scope of practice as an AMAP Support patient care activities such as vital signs monitoring and other basic nursing tasks Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems or paper MAR (Medication Administration Records) Observe and report changes in patient condition, including physiology, anatomy-related or behavioral health concerns Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality during all documentation and communication Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver high-quality residential and home & community care services Participate in medical records management by updating medical terminology and documenting medication administration accurately Requirements High School Diploma or GED. 18 years of age or older. Must have a valid WV driver's license in good standing and access to a personal vehicle. One year of proven experience working in behavioral health settings. Certification as an Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) or equivalent is required; ongoing training preferred. Must maintain state regulatory certifications and trainings outlined by FMRS for this position. Must be able to pass all background checks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, climb stairs and assist individuals throughout the work shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral or medical emergencies. $15.52 per hour
