GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Accounts Receivable / Accounting (AR) Intern will support the finance team in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with customer account reconciliation. This internship provides hands-on experience in accounting operations, financial systems, and the accounts receivable process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with generating and issuing customer invoices. Record and apply incoming payments to customer accounts. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation. Support the AR team with collections follow-ups and customer communications. Review sales tax exemptions on file. Request/review/upload updated forms. Assist with compiling documentation for state tax audit. Update accounting systems with payment and billing information. Perform data entry and assist with general administrative tasks related to accounting. Support month-end closing activities.
REASONING ABILITY
Previous internship or coursework related to accounting or finance. Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems (e.g. Epicor, Quickbooks). Familiarity with sales tax. Experience with spreadsheets and basic financial reporting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
English required, Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
