Duties Perform advanced tree pruning, trimming, and removals in accordance with

standards and industry best practices Expertly and confidently climb and work in trees of all sizes—from small ornamentals to large, complex canopy trees—using rope-and-saddle systems, SRT/DRT techniques, and aerial rescue readinessExecute complex rigging operations, including negative rigging and controlled dismantling of hazardous or structurally compromised trees Safely operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and other arboricultural equipment Operate bucket trucks and aerial lifts when appropriate, with a strong understanding of when climbing is the safer or more effective option Assess tree structure, identify defects, and make real-time decisions to ensure crew safety and property protection Apply advanced arboricultural knowledge to diagnose tree health issues, pests, and diseases, and recommend treatment or mitigation plans Maintain detailed job documentation, including work performed, site conditions, and safety considerations Collaborate effectively with crew members on residential and commercial projects, contributing to efficient workflow and high-quality outcomes

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of professional tree climbing experience in production arboriculture Demonstrated proficiency in rope-and-saddle climbing systems, including SRT and DRT techniques, with the ability to work safely and efficiently in trees of all sizes and complexity Strong working knowledge of advanced rigging techniques, including negative rigging and controlled dismantling for safe tree removal Experience performing pruning and removals in accordance with

ANSI A300

standards and industry safety protocols (ANSI Z133) Proven ability to assess tree structure, identify defects, and make sound decisions regarding safe work positioning and removal strategy Proficiency in the safe operation and maintenance of arboricultural equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and aerial lifts Experience operating bucket trucks and understanding when aerial access vs. climbing is most appropriate Solid understanding of tree biology, health diagnostics, and proper pruning practices ISA Certification or equivalent is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certifications and continue professional development is expected

Preferred Qualifications:
