Job Description
Support our highly collaborative architectural design studio in a fully integrated A&E practice to meet our clients' ever-changing needs and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. As an Electronics Architect Professional in Tempe, Arizona you will have the chance to work with a highly creative, in-house multi-disciplinary team dedicated to innovative problem-solving and design excellence. You will support the design of complex facilities and structures for our clients requiring advanced planning and building techniques. As part of the Electronics architecture team, you will support business development, client engagement, and promotion of overall design quality. Collaborating in our fast-paced environment with other members of the team, you will work in all phases of design performing conceptual planning, oversee the development of design and layouts, and be engaged in detailed design tasks. You will be responsible for preparing studies and analyses, and leading design coordination across architecture and engineering disciplines. Project types include state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing facilities and cleanroom environments. Your role includes leading a design team in pre-design, planning phases, document phases, services during construction and helping develop relationships, while meeting our clients' ever-changing needs. As a Design Architect, you will: - Competently perform all standard aspects of architectural design, development, and execution with minimal supervision. Plan and conduct work requiring judgement and evaluation, selection and adaptation of architectural techniques and criteria. Exercise sound judgement and problem-solving skills, not hesitating to reach out to others for guidance or confirmation when questions arise. Possess knowledge of principles and practices of architectural design and construction, including the ability to apply required provisions of building codes and standards. Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control, including checking others' work. - Be responsible for managing your workload, making and keeping commitments, and taking ownership of your assigned work. Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail. Take ownership of your portion of the design scope, reliably working to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements. Able to forecast level of effort needed to complete design scope. Be ready to identify scope change and escalate it to your Lead or Project Manager. Recognize when help is needed, reaching out to peers and senior architects for guidance. - Be a motivated self-starter who is punctual, proactive, and attentive, with strong organizational skills. - Develop leadership and coaching skills. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and/or mentorship to designers and less experienced architects. Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the architectural discipline. Embrace emerging technologies. Collaborate on producing a departmental program for training and providing continuing education for architects in the editing and creation of specifications. - Participate in multi-discipline coordination efforts related to Master Specifications.
- On an assigned project:
Attend project meetings and take an active role to help teams resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines. Participate in and champion internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews. Lead large architectural teams and work scopes. Support team in vendor dialog, research, product selection and alignment between drawings and specifications. Bachelor's or master's degree from accredited Architectural program At least 15 years of architecture experience Architectural design experience for large-scale projects Leadership skills to motivate and guide teams Experience managing and ensuring project quality and providing ideas and suggestions aimed at improving the effectiveness of specifications Excellent client focus Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards Leadership experience in all phases of design including Programming, Pre-Design, Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development, and Construction Documents Be a motivated self-starter who is punctual, proactive, and attentive, with strong organizational skills Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ideally, you'll also have:? Professional Architect license Experience on large-scale advanced manufacturing project types Experience with BIM workflows and advanced digital design tools, including Revit and related coordination platforms Desire to travel Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects Familiarity with cleanroom design standards and highly technical facilities Experience contributing to business development, client engagement, or proposal efforts CSI accreditation, CDT or CCS , or experience with architectural specifications development Experience mentoring junior staff and supporting team capability development #afelectronics #LI-MP1 Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
