Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Architectural Job Captain Office Location:
Stockton, CA We are looking for experienced and talented Architectural Job Captains to join LDA Partners at our Stockton office location. This is a great opportunity for a long-term position with a focus on career and professional development. Established 45 years ago, LDA Partners is an award winning, mid-sized architectural firm with offices in Stockton and Sacramento specializing in private development, commercial, educational, and public facility designs.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of professional architectural industry experience. Energetic, well spoken, and have the desire to seek new responsibilities and challenges. Ability to correspond effectively with colleagues and consultants. Ability to produce, read, interpret, and understand construction drawings Ability to set goals, meet schedules and self-manage time effectively. Ability to take direction to complete tasks and ask questions when the assignment is unclear. Support the design team and ensure design intent is carried through all phases. Commercial architectural project experience. Preferably pertaining to the following project types: Education, Public Facilities, Office commercial.
Proficiency in the following programs:
Revit, Twin Motion, Lumion, Bluebeam, Adobe apps, Microsoft Office products Preferred but not required Qualifications Professional degree in Architecture or closely related field. Pathway to licensure is strongly preferred but not required.
Job Captain Role and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Architectural Job Captain includes supporting the work of Project Architect or Project Manager. This includes the production of schematic design documents through construction documents (using Revit) as well as the creation of digital presentations and illustration boards (Adobe apps and renderings). The candidate will work with a multi-disciplined team throughout the entire project's development; from concept to completion. The successful candidate will also reinforce or establish client relations and will be involved in design meetings. Develop presentation materials and renderings. Good understanding of building construction types, assemblies, and waterproofing. Ability to produce, read, interpret, and understand construction drawings. Prepare and oversee conceptual design drawings through construction drawings and detailing. Research and assist in product selection and cut sheets. Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical issues. Conduct code research and ensure that drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, project requirements, UL/ASTM requirements. Manage day-to-day project production tasks, deadlines, and documentation quality. Assist in project coordination meetings and communicate effectively with the team. Support the Project Architect in translating the design intent into buildable solutions. Assist in providing construction administration support Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft products, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion Strong knowledge of building systems, detailing, and code compliance. Excellent organizational and communication skills. The job captain will independently perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity. Performs analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts. Compensation:
Our firm provides a competitive base salary package plus holiday, vacation, medical, vision, dental & life benefits; plus 401(k) and HSA. Salary will be based on overall candidate qualifications and experience level.
