Intermediate Architect - South Norwalk, CT 3+ Years Experience | Urban Infill | Landmarks | Multifamily & Commercial About JL Architects JL Architects is a lean, high-functioning studio with a strong and growing pipeline of work. Our projects are urban, rigorous, and contextually grounded — multifamily residential, commercial core and shell, and complex infill development across challenging zoning and regulatory environments. We navigate legalizations, landmark approvals, and tight urban sites with a clear, modern design sensibility and an equal commitment to constructability and economy. Our studio is located in the heart of South Norwalk, steps from the Metro-North station. The Role We are looking for an Intermediate Architect to take on meaningful responsibility across all phases of practice. This is not a production-only role — you will contribute to design, documentation, consultant coordination, and client communication from day one. You will grow alongside the firm. This is primarily an in-office position with flexibility for work/life balance. Required Qualifications Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) 3-6 years of professional experience in an architecture firm Experience with commercial core and shell and/or multifamily residential in an urban infill context Proficiency in AutoCAD Strong 3D modeling, rendering, and presentation skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Revit proficiency (we are actively transitioning to BIM workflows and this is a near-term priority) Familiarity with NYC zoning and building code Experience with LPC (Landmarks Preservation Commission) submissions — this is a significant plus ARE completion or active progress toward licensure Compensation & Benefits Salary range $70,000-$85,000 commensurate with experience Monthly health insurance stipend (QSEHRA) 15 days PTO plus federal holidays and end-of-year studio closure Continuing education and ARE support Send your resume, portfolio and work samples (PDF, under 10MB) to [email protected] . Please include a brief note on a project you're proud of and your role in it.Similar remote jobs
