Job Description

Your Role As a Gensler Architect located in our Atlanta Office, you will leverage your attention to detail and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional client projects on time and within budget. A focus for the role will be managing multiple fast-paced mid-size projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong technical skills and experience in both the Hospitality and Residential practice areas with the ability to produce drawings and specifications as needed. What You Will Do Lead architectural deliverables on projects, working with Design Director(s), Technical Director(s), and project team(s) for all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production Provide creative direction to design teams Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Gensler Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve Actively support firmwide sustainability and resilience goals, guiding clients and project teams toward multi-benefit sustainable and resilient design solutions Actively mentor the next generation of leadership by inspiring, empowering and leading by example. You will be responsible for advancing an integrated design culture on your projects within the studio, including mentoring, resources, discourse, initiatives and recruiting of team members Incorporate best practices of hospitality and residential project planning Actively QA/QC drawings Work with authorities having jurisdiction for preliminary code review meetings Write project specifications and/or work with project specifications specialists Take an active lead during the permitting and bid review project of phases Lead Gensler's involvement in the Construction Administration process, working through complex site situations Work with Design Managers to develop project schedules and help drive the project schedules with Gensler team members and consultant teams Track open items and prioritize responses Work with Design Managers as they develop project fees and additional services Your Qualifications 10-15 years' experience as an Architect within a architecture and design firm managing projects in the fee range of $2M-10M Experience with commercial projects such as base building and interior architecture for hotels, multi-family, and residential Experience leading projects of a variety of scales, and mentoring and collaborating with Interior Designers and Architects Strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal management skills Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents. Commitment to a collaborative design process Knowledge of local building codes and standards Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture from an accredited program Licensed / Registered Architect required + LEED accreditation are preferred Proven experience mentoring and coaching junior team members •This is not a remote position.
