We are seeking a highly motivated Job Captain to play a pivotal role in the execution of architectural projects from concept through construction. This position works closely with design and project management teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, innovative designs that meet client expectations. The Job Captain coordinates consultants, assigns tasks to project staff, manages drawing and specification production, and supports construction administration activities including submittal reviews and site meetings. This role is instrumental in overseeing the drafting process and ensuring projects remain on track, accurate, and complete. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination Collaborate with project managers, designers, and team members to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets Coordinate consultants and internal team efforts to ensure efficient project execution Ensure deliverables meet established timelines and quality standards Design Development Translate conceptual designs into detailed construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and specifications Assist in the development and refinement of design concepts as needed Code Compliance Stay current with applicable building codes and regulations Ensure all project documents comply with relevant codes and standards Quality Assurance Review project documents regularly for accuracy, completeness, and quality Implement and uphold quality control standards and best practices Assist with construction administration tasks, including: Site visits Responding to RFIs Reviewing submittals Technology & Production Utilize industry-standard tools including AutoCAD, Revit, and related design and project software Oversee drafting production and ensure timely completion of deliverables Track and complete outstanding tasks and coordination items Qualifications R equired Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or equivalent professional experience 4+ years of architectural experience, including project coordination and documentation Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and related design software Working knowledge of architectural principles, building codes, and construction methods Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and procedures Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
Technical Skills Mathematical Ability:
Intermediate to advanced skills in calculations involving proportions, percentages, area, and volume Ability to apply algebra and geometry concepts independently
Reasoning Ability:
Strong ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form Capable of solving problems involving multiple variables with minimal supervision Why AO?
