Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and development of projects through all phases, from schematic design through construction administration.
- Prepare and oversee the production of design and construction documentation in accordance with firm standards.
- Conduct site visits to document existing conditions and support design development.
- Perform code analysis and technical research to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Select and specify materials, fixtures, and finishes appropriate to project scope and budget.
- Review construction document sets for accuracy, completeness, and coordination; direct revisions as needed.
- Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants to support project objectives.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior staff.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, ensuring adherence to schedules and deadlines.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, clearly communicating design intent and project status.
- Utilize Revit and other design software to support project design and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor or Master of Architecture (B.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of professional architectural experience, including demonstrated experience in a senior design role.
- Experience with residential and commercial project types required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong design, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with applicable building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related design software.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Twinmotion or similar programs preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional licensure or progress toward licensure.
- Experience with sustainable design practices (e.g., Passive House, LEED).
- Strong graphic and presentation skills, including hand sketching.
