Job Description

Design. People. Trust LRS Architects is looking for a Design Lead for our Multi-Family Housing Studio. You'll help lead the design and technical execution of housing projects while supporting project teams, clients, consultants, and community stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Design Managers and Principals, you'll play a key role in translating project goals into coordinated, buildable, and thoughtfully designed housing solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Help lead multifamily housing projects from early planning through construction Supervise and coordinate project team members in the development of design and technical documentation Collaborate with clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies to support project success Guide the production and coordination of BIM models, construction documents, specifications, details, schedules, and project deliverables Assist Design Managers in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and staffing plans Support the implementation of project goals related to design quality, constructability, sustainability, and client expectations Coordinate consultant work and integrate building systems into project documentation Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, accessibility requirements, and firm quality standards Participate in client meetings, presentations, consultant coordination meetings, and jurisdictional reviews Support construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and problem-solving during construction Mentor and support the growth of Designers and Design Coordinators within the project team.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) Approximately 8-12 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 6 years in architecture or interior design Demonstrated experience leading portions of projects and supervising technical production efforts Advanced proficiency with Revit and BIM-based project delivery Strong understanding of construction documentation, consultant coordination, and project delivery processes Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE VALUE
Experience leading multifamily housing, mixed-use, affordable housing, workforce housing, senior living, student housing, or similar residential projects Strong knowledge of multifamily building types, residential planning principles, accessibility requirements, and applicable building codes Experience coordinating structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and specialty consultants Ability to oversee technical project development through all phases of design and construction Understanding of project schedules, construction budgets, and consultant management Experience presenting design solutions and technical information to clients and project stakeholders Knowledge of wood-frame, podium, and mid-rise multifamily construction systems Architectural licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred Experience mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development.
