Position Overview Evolv Northwest is seeking a licensed Architect in the State of Alaska to support the planning, development, and coordination of architectural projects in both residential and commercial sectors. This position requires a highly organized and technically proficient professional with strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, life safety requirements, and code compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced technical expertise in construction documentation, specifications, and project coordination while maintaining compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams in a fully remote work environment and includes occasional company-paid site visits. Key Responsibilities Develop, review, and oversee architectural plans, construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Ensure project documents comply with applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, accessibility requirements, and life safety regulations. Lead and coordinate the preparation of construction documents and architectural detailing for accuracy, constructability, and quality control. Conduct and support code analyses and studies, including interpretation and application of local, state, and federal codes. Coordinate with engineering consultants and interior design teams throughout all project phases. Produce and manage architectural models, renderings, and drawing sets using industry-standard software platforms. Participate in construction administration activities, including submittal review, responses to RFIs, and field verification. Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams. Support internal quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures in accordance with professional standards and NCARB-aligned best practices. Conduct occasional site visits to verify existing conditions and construction progress (In Alaska) Minimum Qualifications Active Architect license in the State of Alaska required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program preferred. NCARB certification preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity through NCARB. Minimum professional experience in both residential and commercial architectural projects. Strong understanding of IBC, IEBC, IRC, ADA, and applicable state and local building codes. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams in a remote work environment. Required Skills Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD Proficiency in Bluebeam or similar tool for redlines Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, detailing, and code compliance Experience preparing and directing construction documents and specifications Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment Eligibility Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen residing within the United States. Preference will be given to candidates located in the western United States due to project coordination and meeting schedules.
