Job DescriptionThe Architect IV candidate will have the ability to execute and lead all project types through design, documentation and construction administration as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This position encourages creativity in problem solving to promote technical and design excellence while ensuring building code and regulatory compliance. The Lead Architect has the ability to coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. The candidate will serve as the Architectural point of contact for clients, other disciplines, estimating and construction personnel.
Core ResponsibilitiesWork independently on projects with ability to execute all phases of design, including programming, planning, concept development, detailed design and construction administration.
Generate complex code analyses, life safety and egress plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules and specifications for large projects of advanced complexity with no oversightDevelop and generate studies, presentations and reports, and present to internal or external audiences.
Research and apply International Building Code and other regulatory requirements as part of project delivery process.
Work closely with Engineering and Construction personnel to develop and ensure coordinated and constructible designs.
Participate and contribute during drawing reviews, coordination meetings and quality checks.
Lead support for construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews and construction progress reportsAssist PM in resource planning, budget and scope definition, schedule adherence and overall quality of deliverables.
Conduct quality checking of documents for complex projects (e.g. technical verification of design calculations, documentation, design approaches) and drive overall project quality.
Identify and resolve complex code, construction or design related challengesProvide mentorship to Architectural staff.
Act as Architect of Record for project assignments.
QualificationsMust Have QualificationsAccredited Professional Degree in Architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch, and/or D.Arch) or Canadian / International equivalentHistory of successful, cross-discipline project coordination and execution on a variety of project typesAbility to develop (or guide development of) complete set of Construction Documents and Specifications for complex projects. Excellent communication and presentation skillsProficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office suiteArchitectural license in good standing within home state, plus NCARB certification or ability to obtainRelevant AEC (Architectural, Engineering or Construction) firm experienceAt least ten years professional experience, with a minimum three years focused on strategic, mater, or space planning or programmingNice to Have QualificationsExtensive knowledge and application of International Building Codes, OSHA Regulations and ADA StandardsExperience developing, communicating, and presenting strategic facility solutions for organizationsExperience in one or more of CRB's core markets, including R D labs, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food & nutrition, and/or consumer productsEntrepreneurial, client focused leadership skillsAbility to mentor Architect staffFlexibility for moderate travel in support of project-based or training activitiesLEED Accreditation, WELL Certification or similar sustainability credentials•Please note - this role will be located onsite in Jacksonville, FL with a hybrid schedule to work 3 days-in office and 2 days remote.•Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
