We are seeking a Building Enclosure Specialist with deep expertise in building envelope systems, technical detailing, and construction practices to oversee exterior detailing on a variety of project types. This role will include training staff, maintaining and expanding our detail library, and ensuring the highest standards of technical documentation across projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Serve as a technical resource and problem solver, offering solutions on constructability and building performance issues Provide mentorship, training, and technical support to staff on building envelope design and detailing Collaborate with project managers, design staff, consultants, manufacturers, and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure enclosure quality, coordination, and energy code compliance Contribute directly to project detailing on a case-by-case basis Maintain and expand the firm's detail library and templates, ensuring they reflect best practices, constructability, and current codes Support the development of project specifications in collaboration with the spec writing team. Continue to develop the firm's Quality Assurance (QA) process, ensuring enclosure consistency and technical excellence across projects Review drawings and specifications for enclosure best practices at key milestones, providing clear, actionable feedback to project teams Manage the quality assurance review process including other reviewers and oversee a firm-wide QA database
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Mastered knowledge of technical design, building systems, building code, energy code, and construction processes Strong expertise in envelope systems, detailing, and building performance Strong team-oriented communication skills, with a collaborative approach to mentoring staff and supporting project teams in resolving technical challenges Organizational skills to manage multiple reviews, track milestones, and maintain review systems Commitment to firm-wide excellence and continuous improvement
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE VALUE
20+ years of professional experience in architecture, with significant technical and construction administration background 10+ years of construction administration experience Proficiency with Bluebeam for markups and communication with teams Working knowledge of Revit (2D drafting skills preferred) Experience with specification processes and technical writing Ability to stay current with building technologies, products, codes, and regulatory standards
