We simplify the design and permitting process so homeowners have a clear, reliable path back home. By offering preapproved, regionally appropriate plans, we cut the time, cost, and decision fatigue that often overwhelm fire survivors. Our approach reduces the knowledge and emotional burden of rebuilding, making it possible for more families to remain on their property. For those who need additional support, we help identify financial resources that can close insurance gaps and keep homeowners rooted in their community. Role Description This role is responsible for the production of coordinated, permit- and bid-ready documentation for preapproved home designs, while also providing management support of the design team to other Project Architects and the Creative Director. This role focuses on the production, implementation, and management of design work - through BIM modeling and coordination, and ensuring consistent application of established design standards, integration of consultant input, and compliance with relevant codes. Responsibilities Drawing Production, Oversight & Quality Control Lead the development of standard home plans in Revit, ensuring full integration of shared templates, keynotes, assemblies, and drafting standards. Manage and support Designers and Draftspersons in producing high-quality drawing sets that clearly reflect design intent and are ready for permitting. Oversee internal drawing reviews, redlines, and coordination rounds to maintain clarity, consistency, and quality across all drawing sets. Ensure each design adheres to organizational standards as established by the Creative Director and Executive Director. BIM & Consultant Coordination Lead BIM coordination workflows, integrating structural, MEP, energy, and other consultant inputs into the central model and documentation. Proactively identify and resolve spatial, technical, and sequencing conflicts across disciplines using Revit and coordination tools. Collaborate with construction activities (via the Director of Building Operations) to incorporate constructability feedback and revise plans accordingly. Maintain a clear audit trail of drawing changes and coordinate consultant updates to ensure alignment across all disciplines. Code, Specification & Permitting Standards Ensure all drawing sets are compliant with California Building Code (CBC), California Residential Code (CRC), Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI), and relevant jurisdictional standards. Maintain and refine shared specification content (materials, assemblies, performance requirements) in alignment with TFCF's sustainability and resilience goals. Guide team members in the application of code and specification standards, and support resolution of plan check comments in coordination with senior leadership. Team Leadership & Communication Organize constant drawing check-ins with other staff and manage workflows across multiple plans to ensure deadlines are met.
