Charleston, SC Company Overview You'll join an engaging, diverse team and gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of commercial project types. From the outset, you'll be encouraged to dive into all aspects of design and project management from schematic design through construction documents participating in every step of the process. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Project Architect to lead the design and execution of architectural projects from concept through construction. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape inspiring spaces, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive project success with energy and precision. As a key player in our design studio, you will utilize your expertise in architectural drafting, project management, and construction processes to deliver exceptional results that meet client visions and industry standards. Your enthusiasm for architecture combined with your technical proficiency will propel projects forward while fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Responsibilities Lead the development of design concepts, ensuring alignment with client goals, budget constraints, and project timelines. Prepare detailed drawings and models using AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, and other CAD software to communicate design intent clearly. Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams through negotiation and effective communication to facilitate smooth project progression. Manage project schedules diligently using project scheduling tools to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Oversee construction documentation including specifications, contracts, and construction estimating to support accurate bidding and budgeting. Utilize Bluebeam for document review, markups, and collaboration during the construction phase. Conduct site visits for renovation or new construction projects to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and address any issues promptly. Support business development efforts by preparing proposals, presentations, and engaging in client meetings to foster new opportunities. Collaborate on interior design aspects when applicable, integrating aesthetic vision with functional requirements. Manage project budgets effectively through detailed budgeting practices while maintaining high standards of quality. Qualifications Proven experience as a Project Architect or similar role within architectural firms or design studios. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D (including Grasshopper 3D), ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), NavisWorks, Bluebeam, and/or other relevant software tools. Strong understanding of construction processes including construction management, estimating, contracts, and renovation projects. Excellent skills in project scheduling and time management to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality. Demonstrated ability in negotiation with clients and contractors to achieve favorable outcomes for all parties involved. Knowledge of interior design principles as they relate to architectural projects is a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Effective communication skills both written and verbal to collaborate across teams and present ideas confidently.
