About the RoleWe are seeking a Project Architect with 5+ years of professional experience to join our Tacoma-based team. This role is ideal for a licensed architect with strong technical expertise and proven experience delivering public-sector projects. The Project Architect will play a key role in leading project documentation, coordinating with consultants, and supporting the successful delivery of complex architectural projects from design through construction.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development of construction documents and technical detailing for public projectsCoordinate with consultants, engineers, and regulatory agenciesEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and public procurement requirementsSupport project management efforts including schedules, budgets, and client coordinationParticipate in design development and contribute to creative and technical problem-solvingAssist with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and site reviewsMentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative studio environmentRequired QualificationsProfessional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)Architectural license in the State of WashingtonMinimum 5 years of professional experience as an architectDemonstrated experience working on public-sector projects (Education, Federal, Government, Civic or Institutional preferred)Strong technical skills with construction documentation and detailingProficiency in Revit (required); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam preferredExcellent communication, coordination, and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience navigating public agency processes and approvalsFamiliarity with Washington State building codes and public procurement proceduresExperience working in a collaborative, team-oriented studio environment
