In this role, you will be responsible for operating asphalt screeding equipment to ensure smooth, high-quality pavement surfaces on various road and infrastructure projects. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and construction site procedures will be essential to delivering durable, precise asphalt layers that meet project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure development while honing your skills in paving and equipment management. Responsibilities Operate asphalt screed machines to lay asphalt with precision, ensuring consistent thickness and smoothness across the project site Coordinate with the paving crew to maintain optimal flow of materials and equipment, supporting efficient project progress Monitor the temperature, compaction, and quality of asphalt during placement, making adjustments as necessary for optimal results Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on screed equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation Assist with related tasks such as loading materials with loaders, operating dump trucks or other commercial vehicles, and supporting concrete pouring or finishing activities when needed Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution Requirements Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment, particularly asphalt screeds or paving machinery Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery Valid driver's license Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety and productivity standards Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving and safety compliance Join our team if you're passionate about building durable infrastructure and eager to develop your skills in paving operations.
