Position Summary Barrett Paving Materials is seeking an intern to gain hands-on experience in asphalt production, materials testing, and equipment maintenance. The intern will rotate through three locations, receiving on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced industry personnel. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily asphalt plant operations, including monitoring equipment and production processes. Support the lab team in collecting material samples and performing standard quality control tests. Assist with routine equipment shop duties, including cleaning and organizing tools and parts. Assist with daily safety meetings, data collection, and stocking of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all sites. Shadow plant, lab, and shop personnel to learn best practices in asphalt production and testing. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Graduate or GED. Drivers' License with a clean driving record. Willingness to learn, take direction, and follow safe work procedures. Wear required PPE. Drug and alcohol free. Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments in varying weather conditions. Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work.
