- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Asphalt Screed Operator to join our dynamic construction team.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating asphalt paving equipment to create smooth, durable road surfaces and parking lots. Your expertise will ensure high-quality paving results while maintaining safety standards and efficient workflow on the construction site. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects and develop your skills in heavy equipment operation. Duties Operate asphalt screed machines to lay asphalt with precision, ensuring a level and smooth surface according to project specifications Coordinate with the paving crew to maintain consistent speed, temperature, and material flow during paving operations Conduct routine inspections of paving equipment, including the screed, loader, excavator, and other related machinery, performing maintenance or reporting issues as needed Assist with site preparation activities such as rebar installation, concrete forming, and site grading to facilitate efficient paving operations Support the delivery and placement of materials using dump trucks, commercial vehicles, and concrete mixers to ensure continuous workflow Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to construction site regulations Collaborate with team members on tasks like concrete pumping, finishing, and ensuring quality control throughout the paving process Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as asphalt screeds, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks in a construction environment Mechanical knowledge of paving machinery and related tools for troubleshooting and maintenance Familiarity with concrete mixer operation, concrete finishing techniques, and rebar installation processes Strong understanding of construction site procedures including concrete forming and site safety standards Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and safety compliance Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for operating commercial vehicles on-site or between locations Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques and supporting project goals
