Planning and Scheduling:
You will be responsible for creating project plans and schedules, including determining timelines, resource requirements, and critical path analysis. You will need to ensure that all project tasks are scheduled in the correct order, and that the project is completed on time and within budget.
Budget Management:
You will be responsible for managing the project budget, including creating a budget plan, monitoring expenses, and forecasting costs. You will need to make sure that the project stays within budget and that any budget overruns are addressed promptly.
Communication:
You will need to communicate with the project team, stakeholders, and clients on a regular basis, including providing project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients from diverse backgrounds.
Risk Management:
You will be responsible for identifying potential risks and developing risk mitigation strategies. You will need to be proactive in identifying risks and taking steps to minimize the impact of those risks on the project.
Quality Control:
You will need to ensure that the project meets all quality standards and that all work is completed to a high level of quality. You will need to be familiar with industry standards and regulations and ensure that all work meets these standards.
Leadership:
You will be responsible for leading the project team, including hiring and training team members, setting project goals, and motivating the team to achieve those goals. You will need to be an effective communicator, able to inspire and motivate team members to work together towards common goals.
Project Documentation:
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and reports. You will need to ensure that all project documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible to all team members.
Safety:
You will need to ensure that all work is performed safely and that all team members are trained on proper safety procedures. You will need to be familiar with industry safety standards and regulations and ensure that all work meets these standards. Overall, as a project manager in a heavy highway company, you will need to be a strong leader with excellent communication and organizational skills. You will need to be able to manage complex projects, work effectively with diverse teams, and ensure that all work is completed to a high level of quality and safety. Typical hours are 6:30am - 5:00pm. Monday - Friday.
